About Me
“There’s a force in the universe that makes things happen. And all you have to do is get in touch with it, stop thinking, let things happen, and be the ball.”
-Ty Webb, Caddyshack
Substitute “ball” for “brick” and this line pretty much sums up how I feel about building with LEGO. On any given evening, I could start at 6PM with a simple structure and before even realizing, it’s 1AM and I’m building something much bigger, much more elaborate. When creating with LEGO, sometimes you just need to turn off the world around you and lose yourself. Sometimes you just need to be the brick.
My name is Patrick Wiseman and I consider myself an AFOL (adult fan of LEGO). I’m no expert builder, but I’m getting better every day. Living in Austin, Texas, I am surrounded by eclectic art and mid-century modern architectural minimalism — assets that can inspire any LEGO architect to keep building and experimenting. And as a father of a young child, not one day goes by when we’re not talking about a new LEGO set, looking at the latest catalog, watching Beyond the Brick: A LEGO Brickumentary, or digging into the bins to simply pass the time.
Has building LEGO MOCs (my own creations) become an obsession? Probably. Is that obsession making me smarter, more creative, more organized and maybe even a better dad? I think so. I hope you enjoy the MOCs included on this website.
